Bold and Beautiful
Cancer Campaign
As a Memento of the event Maria decided to produce a quilt where attendees could sign their names and include a date. The Quilt will also be used to promote future years. Panels and fabric were sourced both locally and interstate. Logos identifying with the various types of common cancers were either downloaded or reproduced and included in the overall design layout. In addition a panel was dedicated to record the details of the event. The Centrepiece Tree resembles the tree of life with its leaves hand sewn and appliquéd .Boarders are too identify with the seasons, which are also appliquéd and sewn by hand. In selecting the panels and depicting the social aspects of life the aim was to highlight the strength, happenings, and positive outcomes that friendship can provide to those touched by cancer
The finished quilt measures approximately 2.9 by 2.7 meters. The overall project took in excess of 1000 hours to produce When done Maria Thanks for Sharing
