Friday Morning I arrived at Buttons & Bows ........

excited to choose material for this Quilt.....its like going into a lolly shop for me ...the picture above is my pick...for the Project...I am really wanting to do a all Black & White Quilt... but feel its so out of my comfort zone better not....

Morning Tea With The Salvo's

A gathering of around 45 women turn up for Morning Tea... .

(At the Salvation Army Southport.)

we all sat around in a large square and the teacher Sandra ..

started by welcoming each of us.... then we all took a turn talking about our Christmas break...&.... what we had archived sewing wise as well (ha ha lol) ...

Well I tell you ..... Sad Stories & Happy stories ....Laughter & Tears.....but what a great way to start the year .. this picture below is our first project starting next Thursday with our choice of colours ...I cant wait to see all the finished Quilts and mine of course...

Look-What- I- Got-For- Australia Day

On Sunday morning I finally decided that today was the day to go and purchase a new

Washing Machine ..................The old one ...sounded like a 747 taking off....and the spin cycle............. I had to turn manually off ...as it didn't know when to stop..and all the cloths where getting holes...so OUT with the OLD and in with the NEW ..............
Do you know how many machines are on the market????....well I found out ........so confusing .....
All I was interested in was one that was gentle.... on my Patchwork Material & Quilts...after many hours this is The One

I love that it doesn't have a agitator so more room for large loads...and the stainless steel tub.....also when you put your load in it works out the water level...so thats saving (which is good in Australia for saving water... every little drop helps )
I have name her Nevaeh (which is Heaven spelt backwards) its Heaven having such a silent machine for a change...

On Tuesday I was visiting a little country town( Murwillumbah )NSW...when I came across the funny little shop ..you see .my Grandson Ed
was given a Pinocchio soft toy........... when he was born............ and for the last 3 1/2 years it has travelled the world.... with him and his mum and dad...but about 2 months ago it was lost between here (Brisbane & Christchurch )...so I hope he will be excited

On Monday I will be back at work ...when I am doing the Banking down Town...I will be swinging into a lovely patchwork shop Buttons & Bows ...and selecting material for this delicious bag...who knows maybe I will have a few....

and they will be Christmas gifts for this year ...Cant believe we are into our second week already

Christmas Break 2008
Boxing day up early................. sorting the house ............... after what was a lovely Christmas day...and getting very excited about heading off on our holidays ......
Our 1st night took us to Coffs Harbour ........... I was pleased that we had travelled that distance....we stayed at a lovely caravan park
(The-Clog -Barn ) it was interesting..... twice a day... a demonstration on clog making

The next day we are off again... heading on our adventure (Pacific Highway) picture this Wayne driving.... music playing singing along to 70's was their any other music!!!!!!!! Wayne had his arm resting on the open window ..Bee flying past we are doing 85 k/ph when (Mr Bee) decided Oh what a nice place to land.....Yes Wayne's arm....well he (Wayne is in control of a 14 ton truck ...and the bee is stinging him...Wayne yelling get me something .....Me (Jeni) what do you want.....he couldn't speak ...I thought we are going to die...any way.. pulls over and pulled the stinger out ... all day his arm was sore...... continuing on our merry way .....singing ....I heard Flap-Flap-Flap "Did you hear that yes better pull over " out we pop ...check all the tyres they look o.k. Wayne rolled the truck so we could check the whole wheel....we are happy...... A..... o.k.

I am so excited !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its Christmas Eve....

like a little child...it is such a magical time ... getting together with my children & their Children (Grand Babes) Partners & Friends........ all the laughing... and joy watching the Little ones opening presents...you just would never miss that day .....
We had a very different Christmas day..............this year................ as Kylie was over in November.... from (New Zealand) that was the family Christmas with all my children together.....So this year we decided that seeing ..... it was just a few of us....we would spend a few hours in the boat............. cruising the Gold Coast canals.... seeing what was going on ...in other back-yards .......and then back home to have our B.B.Q Burgers and home made Christmas ice cream cake ...well it went off very well....and every one had a great time
